Her assemblages explore our relationship to time, memory, and the fragility of things.
Florence Levoir’s work takes shape through assemblage compositions, hybrid forms at the crossroads of sculpture, installation, and object, based narrative. Working with salvaged materials, she collects worn, rusted, and forgotten fragments of the everyday and reconfigures them into poetic constructions she calls “entities.” Quiet witnesses to the passage of time, these objects become vessels for a sensitive form of storytelling, often tinged with irony.
Trained in both philosophy and visual art, the artist develops a symbolic language where each piece becomes the trace of an emotion, a myth, or a personal ritual. Echoing votive traditions and folk art, her work invites a contemplative experience, situated between intimate memory and suggested fiction.
During her residency at La Maison de Simon, she will create an installation built around a found architectural element, an old door or altar-like form, surrounded by a constellation of sculpted entities.
