Bette Ann Albert

2026 Upcoming Artist-in-Residence • Painter

Symbols of transformation, rhythm, and the fleeting beauty of time, clouds appear in the artist’s work as quiet yet active presences, shaping both atmosphere and perception.

During her residency at La Maison de Simon, Bette Ann Albert will continue her exploration of the landscape through a sketchbook-based practice that combines cloud studies, observational drawing, and poetic writing. This slow, intuitive process forms the foundation of her studio work, where drawing and language echo each other and gesture becomes a form of memory.

She will also lead an adult workshop focused on cloud observation, intuitive mark-making, and spontaneous writing. Rooted in close attention to place, the workshop reflects her belief in the sketchbook as both a visual tool and a way to cultivate deeper connections between perception, thought and instinctive gesture.
