A mother-daughter collaboration inspired by Normandy's thriving nature and rich textile heritage.
Linda Schoenheimer, a philanthropist, brilliant business mind, and lifelong artist, joined the family business following a Master of Fine Arts from New York University. Her ability to think unconventionally infuses her work with a unique blend of creativity and business acumen.
Kate McCurdy is a fibre artist and printmaker hailing from New York but now based in the vibrant city of New Orleans. Her creative pursuits encompass a wide range of mediums, including sewing, embroidery, felting, paper maché, and beading, resulting in immersive installations and wearable sculptures that inspire whimsy and harmonize with the body’s movement. With a commitment to sustainability, Kate utilizes up-cycled, vintage, and non-toxic materials in her creations.
During her residency at La Maison de Simon, Kate will collaborate with her mother, Linda Schoenheimer, drawing inspiration from the flourishing nature of Fontaine-sous-Jouy and the rich textile history of Normandy.
